Nottingham Forest fans fume at another ’embarrassing’ Steve Cooper twist
Nottingham Forest supporters have rallied to blast their own who slammed Steve Cooper following his move to Leicester City.
Football Insider revealed [20 June] the scathing reaction Cooper received from sections of the Forest fanbase after his unveiling by East Midlands rivals Leicester.
Cooper won promotion to the Premier League with Forest in 2022 before his sacking in December last year, being replaced by current boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
Nuno steered the club to avoiding the drop last season, albeit with the Premier League’s lowest-ever surviving tally of 32 points.
Even Leicester’s initial links to their new manager incited fury among those 22 miles up the road, as Football Insider reported [10 June] fans claimed Cooper was “tarnishing his legacy” with the move.
Supporters have now slammed critics of the move as “embarrassing” and “unhinged”, reiterating their respect and gratitude towards the 44-year-old Welshman.
