Nottingham Forest have reportedly made an approach to Burton to speak to Nigel Clough about their vacant managerial role – and the club’s supporters have a divided opinion on Twitter.
Sky Sports claim that the Midlands giants have asked Championship rivals if they can speak to Clough as they look for a replacement for the recently sacked Philippe Montanier.
He is a legend at the City Ground after 324 appearances as a player, while his late father Brian is regarded as one of the club’s best ever managers after winning back-to-back Euroepan titles.
Forest are currently facing a relegation battle and are just five points above the drop zone after 28 games.
The club’s supporters have voiced divided opinions on Twitter about the Clough speculation as some feel the fan favourite could do a steady job as manager, while others don’t think he is good enough for the position.

A number of fans were more concerned with owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi and feel that no manager has a chance under his tenure.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Think Nigel Clough is the man for stability, if allowed to do the job! Even under fuzzy I can't see him turning this down #NFFC

We need something to unite behind and the name of Clough is as good as it gets. We will see how much he wants the job now. #nffc

I feel that under a proper structure and with a bit of cash, Clough would do very well. Always done well at cash strapped clubs #nffc

I don't think I could bear to see Nigel Clough come to #nffc whilst Fawaz is still here. We all know how it will end 😞 #fawazout #hassanout https://t.co/s9KnHSjrPz

I'd be behind Nigel Clough 110% but it will never end well under the current owner #fawazout #nffc
