Nottingham Forest midfielder Matty Cash has committed his long-term future to the club – and fans on Twitter are delighted.
Cash, 19, made his breakthrough into the first-team setup at the start of the season, and has since become an important player.
His performances have been rewarded with a new long-term contract, a deal that was confirmed by the club on their official Twitter account on Friday night.

Great to see Matty Cash sign a new deal. Now if we could just see him play in the right position that would be grand #nffc

Great that Cash has signed a new deal, although I'm tempted to say a good League One loan would help him #nffc

Decent afternoon for #NFFC with Cash extending contract /apparent arrival of McParland. Is hoping for a good result tomorrow a bit too much?

Things are #NFFC are slowly improving. Tying the likes of Cash and Worrall to long-term contracts. DOF coming in, finance officer in place.

After being named in Gary Brazil’s starting XI to face Brighton in the Championship on Saturday, Cash will be making his 22nd appearance of the season.
He has yet to hit the back of the net for the club this term, but he has contributed three assists; his last coming in the victory over Bristol City on January 21.
The new long-term deal should also see Nottingham Forest fend off interest in his services, after a number of sides were linked with a move form him in January.
German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig had reportedly made a £6million approach for Cash, but Nottingham Forest were not looking to sell.
Forest’s stance on the player remains unchanged, after convincing the youngster to put pen to paper, deterring any potential summer bids.
In other Nottingham Forest transfer news, Fawaz Al-Hasawi insists the club have no intention to part ways with this young star.
