Nottingham Forest fans react on Twitter to speculation enforcer is heading in

Aaron Tshibola is reportedly on the verge of joining Nottingham Forest from Aston Villa – and fans of the east Midlands club have taken to Twitter to express their delight at his imminent arrival.

Reliable Telegraph Midlands correspondent John Percy has claimed on his personal Twitter account on Sunday night that the transfer of the 22-year-old central midfielder to Forest is “done”.

Villa appear to have given the green light for the midfield enforcer to leave on loan for the remainder of the season following a spate of new arrivals.

Manager Steve Bruce has bolstered his numbers in the central acres in the January window with the acquistions of  Henri Lansbury, Birkir Bjarnason and Conor Hourihane, who have augmented the likes of Mile Jedianak, Ashley Westwood and Gary Gardner and at times Jack Grealish.

Forest fans are keen for their struggling team to be revamped in the final days of the window and took to social media on Sunday night to hail Tshibola as a solid acquisition.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Ex-Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo signed Tshibola from Reading last summer for a fee of £5million but he has slipped down the pecking order since Bruce’s autumn arrival in the dugout.

The 22-year-old has made only two appearances since October and does not appear to have much chance of action at Villa in the second half of the campaign.

Forest are locked in a relegation battle following a string of poor results and are placed 19th in the Championship table, just five points ahead of the drop zone.
