Nottingham Forest fans shocked as ‘terrible’ City Ground images drop online
Nottingham Forest fans have been stunned by the latest City Ground development twist after new images emerged on social media.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has been exploring different options to expect the capacity of the stadium in an attempt to bring in more revenue from ticket sales.
This included considering the possibility of moving away from the City Ground, although that option was quickly ruled out after fears about a negative fan reaction.
However, as the club continues to assess its options, what appears to be a temporary expansion has appeared in recent days.
Images show what appear to be new hospitality boxes erected in the corner of the stadium – completely standalone and out of place with the other stands.
The newly available options should allow the club to further their current revenue with highly-priced tickets, but many fans have been left open-mouthed after seeing them.
Nottingham Forest fans can’t believe latest City Ground twist
There have been suggestions that the building is just the beginning of a more structured development in that corner, but the lack of explanation has come with added concern.
While the short-fix solution may have provided a better alternative to a complete move away from the historic City Ground, fans are questioning whether a different option could have been explored.
Many have taken social media in reaction to the new images as the development has been labelled “terrible”, “pathetic” and “awful”.
