Nottingham Forest fans ‘sick to death’ of ‘atrocious’ player after what he did vs Sturm Graz

Nottingham Forest had to settle for a point with a dull 0-0 draw against Sturm Graz in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Sean Dyche has had time to settle into his role as Nottingham Forest manager now, with results needed to push them up both the domestic and European standings.

They travelled to Austria with optimism of getting a result after beating Porto 2-0 in their last Europa League game, but saw numerous chances go begging as Sturm Graz held firm on home turf.

Forest were held to a goalless draw against the Austrian side as Morgan Gibbs-White saw a first-half penalty saved by Oliver Christensen, and the attacking midfielder has felt the wrath of their fans following his poor showing.

Morgan Gibbs-White had a shocker vs Sturm Graz

Gibbs-White was slammed for his performance against Bournemouth last month as he mustered a lowly 68% pass completion in a 2-0 loss on the south coast.

He did score a good header last weekend as Forest earned a point against Man United at the City Ground, but couldn’t follow that up with a strong showing in Europe.

Gibbs-White’s weak spot-kick was well-saved by Oliver Christensen in the Graz goal in the 35th minute, and he failed to impress overall on a key night for the Reds.

The 25-year-old misplaced nine passes, created just the one chance for his teammates and won just six of his 11 duels either on the ground or in the air, all while having just three open-play touches in the hosts’ area before he was taken off in the 77th minute.

Gibbs-White savaged by Forest fans for ’embarassing’ showing

Forest fans were not happy with the overall performance of their team, but Gibbs-White bore the brunt of their anger, mainly for the golden penalty opportunity he missed on a night of few chances.

One supporter took to X to vent their frustrations, saying: “Morgan Gibbs White is the most overrated player of my lifetime. Sick to death of this every single week.”

Another wrote: “Gibbs white the worst of the lot, embarrassing performance for our highest paid player ever,” while one added: “I honestly dont think he’s a quality player. He’s technically gifted, but end product is atrocious. He’s also anything but a leader. I’d sell him in a heartbeat if we can get anywhere near the £60m Spurs were prepared to pay.”
