Nottingham Forest fans stunned by ‘corrupt’ Premier League after Chelsea news
Nottingham Forest fans have been left raging at the Premier League once again after the latest update on Chelsea’s potential financial breaches.
A report from ESPN revealed that the Premier League have cleared the Blues’ sale of two hotels to a sister company which will aid their compliance with profit and sustainability rules.
Essentially – Chelsea’s majority owners Clearlake Capital will transfer money from one BlueCo subsidiary to another to help avoid the financial restrictions and eventual punishment.
Yet again, belief is growing that the Premier League appears to be doing all it can to assist clubs in avoiding punishments for failing to stay within the rules.
This comes after both Nottingham Forest and Everton were handed points deductions last summer for their own breaches of PSR.
Since those punishments were delivered, fans have insisted most clubs in the division are being governed differently from the big six – and the latest twist serves as further proof of their claims.
Nottingham Forest fans rage at Premier League after Chelsea PSR twist
Forest were deducted four points for their breach of PSR last season, despite having spent two years of the three-year period in the Championship.
Now, fans are beginning to feel more harshly treated with each passing day, having also been shocked as Leicester City managed to win their appeal against their own charge.
Forest supporters have flocked to social media after the recent events, as they labelled the Premier League “pathetic”, insisting the latest news is “blatant corruption”.
Others, meanwhile, have called for the affected clubs to sue the Premier League given the apparent difference in how clubs are dealt with.
In other news, Forest fans are raging at Gary Neville after his latest PSR claim.
