Nottingham Forest lay groundwork for bumper signing spree – sources
Nottingham Forest are confident of keeping all their top stars if they secure Champions League qualification, sources have told Football Insider.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are third and seven points clear of sixth-place Newcastle – with five Premier League clubs set to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition.
Sources say Forest are laying the groundwork to add top talent to their squad in a bumper summer window and are not planning on losing any of their best performers.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (18 March) that Nottingham Forest will “do everything they can” to keep hold of captain Morgan Gibbs-White amid interest from Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal.
Nottingham Forest confident of keeping top performers
Meanwhile, Murillo has already signed a new contract this year following strong interest from Chelsea.
Forest have previously struggled to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and had to sell Brennan Johnson to Tottenham in 2023.
Player | Value (€, million) |
Murillo | 50 |
Morgan Gibbs-White | 40 |
Ibrahim Sangare | 28 |
Danilo | 28 |
Nikola Milenkovic | 25 |
But the Midlands club are ready to invest in the squad to take it to the next level after a huge overachievement in the 2024-25 campaign.
Chris Wood, 33, has already signed a new deal running until June 2027 while top performers Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi are under contract until 2028 and 2026 respectively.
But top performing right-back Ola Aina, who has attracted interest from Man City, is out of contract in June.

Nottingham Forest set sights on Norway international
Football Insider revealed last week (13 March) that Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Brentford watched AZ Alkmaar star David Moller Wolfe against Tottenham in the Europa League.
The Norway international left-back has notched two goals and six assists in 36 games this term.
Neco Williams is currently lining up for Espirito Santo’s side at left-back with Alex Moreno also on loan at the City Ground.
