‘Nottingham Forest move on Aina, Hudson-Odoi and Williams deals’

Nottingham Forest look to be making progress towards agreeing contracts with several key senior players.

Despite owner Evangelos Marinakis’ recent outburst at manager Nuno Espirito Santo, this has been an excellent season for the club.

They are now guaranteed to be playing European football next season, and could still qualify for the Champions League, while there was also an excellent run to the semi finals of the FA Cup.

It has also been a productive season off the pitch for the club, with centre-back Murillo signing a new contract with Nottingham Forest.

He was not the only one to do so either, with Chris Wood also putting pen to paper on a new deal at The City Ground.

Now the club also look to be taking steps towards sealing new deals for a number of their other top players as well.

Ola Aina, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Neco Williams in line for extensions

Football Insider was recently told that Nottingham Forest are set to hold contract talks with Callum Hudson-Odoi in the wake of his impressive form this season, and his is not the only deal on the agenda.

According to an update from The Telegraph, the winger has now held initial talks with the club over a new deal, which are expected to become more advanced in the summer.

Meanwhile, full-back Neco Williams, who has a year remaining on his current deal at The City Ground is apparently “in line” for an improved contract following his excellent performances in recent months.

Right-back Ola Aina had been due to see his deal with Forest expire in the summer, although an option to extend that contract for next season has already been taken up.

There is also said to be an expectation that the 28-year-old will sign the contract that has been on the table for him at the club for the past few months, as the club tie down key performers.

Nottingham Forest set for progress with contract news

Football Insider Verdict

This season has demonstrated just how much potential there is in Espirito Santo’s side with the results that have been produced in league and cup.

The pressure is now on them to maintain that, especially with the challenge of European football to cope with next season as well.

By agreeing contracts with Hudson-Odoi, Aina, and Williams, it is fair to say Nottingham Forest would be taking a big step towards doing that.

All three have shown this season how good they are for the club, proving they are the sort of players they need if they are to go to the next level in terms of consistent top six finishes and major honours.

It also eases the pressure on the club in the transfer window, both in terms of seeing off interest in these players from elsewhere, and reducing the number of signings they need to make.

With that in mind everyone connected with Nottingham Forest will surely be desperate to see these new contracts be made official as soon as possible.
