Nottingham Forest ‘own goal’ slammed after ‘massive’ development – O’Rourke
Nottingham Forest have scored an “own goal” after they hiked up the price of their season tickets.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke was adamant that Forest have “alienated” fans with their “massive” new fees.
The club announced new season ticket prices this week which saw fees rise by an average of 24 per cent.
The cost of a Zone One ticket in the upper end of the Brian Clough Stand has increased by 28 per cent, while a season ticket for fans aged between four and 13 has risen to £190 – a 111 per cent increase.

The new charges were quickly criticised by the Nottingham Forest Supporters’ Trust, who blasted the announcement as “totally disproportionate to the current [3.2 per cent UK] inflation rate”
The news comes in the wake of the Reds’ four-point deduction for a breach of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, which has put their top-flight status under major threat.
Last month (28 March), an independent commission found Forest’s losses breached their allowed threshold of £61million by £34.5million in the three-year period up to the 2022-23 season.
It remains unclear whether the new fees will stay in place if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are relegated to the Championship.
Forest are not the only Premier League side to face criticism for season ticket price bumps, with Tottenham raising theirs by six per cent and scrapping senior concessions tickets in 2025-26.
