Nottingham Forest player ratings v Leeds: Trio get 7/10 despite loss

By Will Butcher

Football Insider rates the Nottingham Forest players as they lost 2-0 to Leeds on Wednesday night at Elland Road.

Stephen Henderson 6 – Brave in between the sticks for Forest, as he looked to claim the ball from crosses on a number of occasions despite battling target man Chris Wood. Got a cut on his head for his troubles.

Eric Lichaj 7 – Kept Northern Ireland international Stuart Dallas quiet throughout the match on the right side of defence, as he wore the captain’s armband.

Jack Hobbs 5 – Was bullied by Wood throughout, taken off in the 57th minute.

Danny Fox 6 – Out of position in the centre of defence, Fox struggled against one of the Championship’s most in-form forwards in Wood.

Daniel Pinillos 6 – Got forward well from left-back but struggled to keep a hold of Leeds £3million summer signing Kemar Roofe.

Michael Mancienne 6 – Went about his game without doing anything outstanding, but did make a number of important defensive headers as Leeds looked to find Wood in the box.

David Vaughan 6 – Did little to catch the eye, as he kept things simple in the middle of the park with his short passing.

Matty Cash 6 – Number of strong attacking runs and incisive forward passes that contributed to a strong counter attack. No finishing product, though.

Ben Osborn 7 – Lively in the number 10 role, as he continues to shine as one of Forest’s rising stars at just 22 years of age. Orchestrated a dangerous counter attack.

Jamie Ward 6 – Worried the Leeds defence alongside Osborn and Cash, as Forest played on the attack but failed to help his side find the back of the net.

Britt Assombalonga 7 – Looked sharp despite spending the majority of the season on the sidelines through injury, but was left isolated at times.

Subs:

Thomas Lam (On for Hobbs, 57 mins) 6

Nicklas Bendtner (On for Ward, 67 mins) 6

Ben Brereton (On for Assombalonga, 77 mins) 6
