Nottingham Forest respond as Man City swoop for Morgan Gibbs-White
Nottingham Forest are keen to open talks with star man Morgan Gibbs-White over a potential new contract, sources have told Football Insider.
Forest are ready to respond with widespread reports suggesting Man City are ready to step up their interest in the midfielder – who earned his first England caps earlier this season.
Gibbs-White has regularly worn the armband for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season and they are very reluctant to see him go.
It is believed the Midlands giants will do everything to keep the 25-year-old, who is currently out of contract in June 2027, at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest ready to open Gibbs-White contract talks
Sources say Forest would be worried if Gibbs-White is approached by Pep Guardiola‘s side this summer – but they are confident Champions League qualification will be enough to keep him at the club.
It has been widely reported in recent days that City are lining him up as part of their solution to replace Kevin De Bruyne – who has announced he will leave the Etihad Stadium when his contract ends in June.

Gibbs-White has made 30 appearances across all competitions for Forest this term, notching five goals and nine assists.
He joined the Midlands club from Wolves in 2022 for a huge fee of £25million plus £17million in add-ons but has repaid that faith in the subsequent seasons.
The midfielder is close to hitting the 150 appearance milestone in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest prepare ambitious Cunha swoop
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (5 April) that Nottingham Forest are ready to show their ambition with a swoop for Wolves star Matheus Cunha.
Espirito Santo’s side could break their transfer record to sign the Brazil international – if they secure Champions League qualification for next season.
The Midlands giants will face stiff competition for Cunha’s signature in the summer transfer window – with the forward available via his £62.5million release clause.
