Nottingham Forest respond to Igor Jesus enquiry, Premier League elite to be on red alert
Nottingham Forest striker Igor Jesus has been the subject of a transfer enquiry from Flamengo in the final stages of their transfer window.
According to journalist Mauro Cezar, via Planeta do Flamengo, the Brazilian giants have made contact over the possibility of signing the 24-year-old before the end of their transfer window on 3 March.
However, it is understood that Forest have little intention of entertaining a sale of Jesus in the middle of the season, as they continue to battle against the possibility of relegation from the Premier League.
The frontman has impressed in his debut season in English football so far this term, and the interest from Flamengo is sure to be far from the full extent of the clubs that have him on their radar at the moment.
Premier League elite to track Igor Jesus
Jesus has quickly established himself as one of Forest’s principal attacking threats since his £10million move from Botafogo.
The Brazilian is currently the Reds’ top goalscorer in all competitions, as he already has 12 strikes to his name so far this term, although there is a bizarre element to that total.
Only two of those efforts have come in the Premier League, as Jesus hasn’t been exempt from the issues that have plagued the East Midlands outfit in the final third.
| Premier League | Jesus’ Stats | Europa League |
| 25 | Apps | 7 |
| 0.13 | Goals per 90 | 1.64 |
| 0.27 | xG per 90 | 1.15 |
| 0.63 | Shots on Target per 90 | 2.11 |
| 0.38 | Chances Created per 90 | 0.23 |
However, the new arrival has been prolific in Europa League action so far, as he has seven goals from seven games on the continent, a run which continued with a goal and an assist in the 3-0 win over Fenerbahce on Thursday.
Those stats are enough evidence alone that the Premier League’s elite should be paying serious attention to his development at the City Ground, as he clearly has what it takes to become a top striker.
Vitor Pereira picked Jesus to lead the line in his first outing as manager, and the division’s ‘big six’ will undoubtedly be watching closely to see whether he can be the man to help translate his European form across into league action.

Forest have the striker tied down until 2029, but that is unlikely to stop some of England’s biggest clubs making serious moves for him this summer.

How much would it take for Nottingham Forest to sell Jesus?
Jesus’ impressive start in English football in 2025-26 has already made the £10m that Forest splashed out to bring him in look like a bargain.
If he continues to develop as expected in the coming years, then it could easily become one of the Reds’ best pieces of transfer business since they were promoted back to the top flight.
According to journalist Julio Miguel Neto, the striker is valued at around £17.4m in Brazil at the moment, almost double what Forest paid to secure his services last summer.
The fact that his valuation has already increased to that level within a matter of months is a major sign that it will continue to rise if he maintains his form.
Throw in the fact that Forest would surely charge a premium if he were to move elsewhere in the Premier League, and it would likely need a fee in the region of the £25m mark at least, in order for them to entertain the idea of a summer sale.
