Nottingham Forest respond to Man United’s Elliot Anderson interest after £70m reveal
Elliot Anderson has been the subject of plenty of speculation at Nottingham Forest since impressing on the international stage with England.
Anderson was named man of the match against Andorra, before also impressing against Serbia, earning him recognition not just at international level but at club level too.
So far this season, he has started all six of Forest’s Premier League games and their opening Europa League clash as he remains a crucial part of their plans.
Now, Man United have taken an interest in Anderson as they aim to improve their midfield options, and are believed to be keeping an eye on his performances.
Man United have been targeting a number of midfielders, with the likes of Morten Hjulmand and Adam Wharton on their radar, as they aim to address a key area of the squad.

Nottingham Forest ‘doing everything’ to keep Elliot Anderson
Despite Man United’s interest, however, Forest have no plans to sell Anderson and are increasingly confident of keeping him at the City Ground.
Postecoglou’s side are prepared to do everything in their power to deter interest from Man United and other suitors should they make a move in the January window.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that a number of top sides are keeping tabs on the England international.
“Forest aren’t going to want to lose Anderson,” Brown said.
“I think he’s done an excellent job there, getting into the England squad and really starting to show his qualities, so of course that’s going to mean clubs are looking at him.
“He’s confident in possession, very good on the ball, can break lines with his passing and he’s an all-round midfielder. Any club in the Premier League would want a player like that.

“He’d certainly add something to Man United’s midfield, but they’re not the only ones looking at him. For Forest, he’s obviously an important player and not somebody they want to see leave.
“I expect they’ll be doing everything in their power to keep him at the club, whether that’s in January or next summer.
“They have to make sure they can keep hold of their best players and build on what they’ve done so far, and that means holding on to the likes of Anderson.”
The Nottingham Forest star has now emerged as one of the hottest prospects in English football, as Joe Cole labelled Anderson “unbelievable” and compared him to Steven Gerrard.
Nottingham Forest place £70m asking price on Anderson
Football Insider revealed on 12 September that Forest could demand over £70million to sell Anderson should any interested club come calling in 2026.
Sources say, following Postecoglou‘s appointment, the boss is “desperate” to keep hold of his best players and Forest remain confident they can fend off interested clubs.
The 22-year-old is believed to be happy at Forest with no plans to leave, while he is under contract until 2029, reinforcing the club’s strong stance.

Having previously hung on to Morgan Gibbs-White despite intense interest from Tottenham, Forest are unlikely to be bullied into selling key players.
Evangelos Marinakis has been bullish about his plans for the future of the club as he aims to be ambitious and keep building on last season’s success.
