Nottingham Forest star Chris Wood reacts to Nick Pope’s Newcastle message

Nick Pope has posted a message on social media to fans after keeping a clean sheet in Newcastle United’s 3-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men became the first side in the top four tiers of English football to lose eight successive home league games without scoring, following their defeat to Newcastle on Monday evening. (7 April).

The Magpies got off to a flying start with under two minutes on the clock, when former Leicester forward Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento combined down the left, allowing the latter to square the ball to Jacob Murphy for an easy finish

Murphy doubled his tally on the night with just over ten minutes into proceedings, following Fabian Schar’s audacious effort from his own half crashing off the crossbar, and to the feet of the winger who finished high into the roof of the net.

Leicester’s night went from bad to worse when Joelinton cut inside of Wout Faes and unleashed a low strike, only for it to be parried into the path of Barnes to put the game out of sight before half-time.
