‘Nottingham Forest star in secret talks to lure Harvey Elliott’

Nottingham Forest have set their sights on luring Liverpool star Harvey Elliott to the City Ground ahead of the summer transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side remain hopeful of Champions League football, sitting just one point off fifth with two games to play, and are aiming to bolster their squad.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 9 May that Forest have joined the race to sign Elliott in case they lose Morgan Gibbs-White in the transfer window.

Now, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has told Football Insider that former Liverpool player Neco Williams will be speaking behind the scenes to Elliott about the potential move.

Elliott is believed to be keen to play regular football at this stage of his career, and could follow in Williams’ footsteps with a move to the City Ground.

This comes after Football Insider revealed that Elliott has been disappointed with his playing time since Arne Slot arrived and would be open to a move away.

Nottingham Forest backed to win race for Harvey Elliott

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last month that Elliott is wanted by multiple Premier League clubs ahead of the summer window.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that a move to Forest would make sense for both parties, with Williams proving that the City Ground is the place to push forward in his career.

He’s a good player, Harvey Elliott,” he told Football Insider.

“All you have to do is look at Neco Williams for Nottingham Forest, he’s gone there from Liverpool, settled and been excellent for Forest.

“He was a player in the same mould as Elliott, a younger player on the fringes of the squad.

“I’m sure there has been some communication between the two players.

“Harvey Elliott is a top-quality player, but he’s getting to the stage of his career now where he has to go and fulfill that potential and play on a regular basis.

“He might get the opportunity to play at a club like Forest, that type of move would be there.

“I think there’d be a lot of clubs who would look at him as a good, versatile young player who would fit into a lot of starting XI’s and squads.”

Man City eye Morgan Gibbs-White swoop after Forest latest

Speculation surrounding a potential move for Elliott has emerged amid growing interest in Gibbs-White, with Man City keeping a close eye on his situation.

Football Insider revealed on 10 May that Forest may be powerless to resist Man City if they make a move for the England international this summer.

Gibbs-White is believed to be flattered by the interest and would welcome the opportunity to play under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 16 May that Forest could be forced to sell key players amid ongoing concerns about their PSR situation.
