Nottingham Forest star Lewis O’Brien undergoing Swansea medical – sources

Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien is heading to Swansea City for a medical ahead of a deadline-day switch, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old is poised to put the finishing touches on a loan move to the Swans until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

O’Brien spent the second half of 2024 on loan with Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC before returning to Forest at the start of the winter window.

He made 18 appearances across all competitions for the US side, notching one goal and one assist.

The midfielder is no stranger to a Championship loan, having previously made 25 appearances with Middlesbrough in the 2023-24 after leaving Forest temporarily.

O’Brien joined Nottingham Forest from Huddersfield following promotion to the Premier League in 2022 and has made just 17 appearances for the club.

Swansea sit 17th in the second tier and are without a league win in 2025.
