Nottingham Forest star may have already given Man United the green light to sign him
Manchester United are the prime example of how quickly the mood can change in football.
Ruben Amorim was on the verge of being sacked by Man United following their Premier League defeat to Brentford in September.
The Portuguese tactician remained in the dugout at Old Trafford and has since masterminded three successive wins over Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton.
Man United beat Brighton on Saturday (October 25), with Bryan Mbeumo’s brace complementing goals by Matheus Cunha and Casemiro.
United now travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday with an opportunity to enter the Champions League places.

Morgan Gibbs-White supports Manchester United
Forest are currently struggling in the Premier League and occupy the final relegation place, with Sean Dyche losing his second game in charge against Bournemouth.
However, despite their alarming slump down the table, the Reds still have plenty of players being eyed by multiple big clubs.
Man United have shown an interest in Elliot Anderson after his stunning rise to prominence, while Morgan Gibbs-White is another.
Football Insider revealed in March that Man United were planning a swoop for Gibbs-White, and although they ended up signing Cunha and Mbeumo instead, the Englishman is someone who wouldn’t say no to a transfer.
In a 2023 interview, the talented attacking midfielder revealed that he supported the Red Devils growing up and idolised Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney.
“Growing up as a kid, I supported Man United,” he told the Premier League. “Rooney was always my favourite player. He was the key player in that squad.
“Another player I loved watching was Paul Scholes, he used to just pick the ball up and zing it everywhere. He was just so calm and composed on the ball. That’s where my love for football came (from).”
Gibbs-White shares his admiration for Man United
Gibbs-White has become one of the Premier League’s best attacking midfielders but he has also fallen victim to his sides struggles this term.
The 25-year-old has produced just one assist in nine top-flight appearances after producing 17 goal involvements in 34 appearances during 2024/25.
Meanwhile, ahead of this weekend’s showdown, Gibbs-White bizarrely waxed lyrical about Amorim and the Red Devils, suggesting the Premier League is better off if they keep up their winning form.
‘They’ve stuck with the gaffer and you’re starting to see how Man United should be playing’ 👀

“It’s been incredible to see,” he told Stan Sport. “Obviously they’ve been going through a tough time, the past couple of years, but they’ve stuck with the gaffer and the past four or five games we’ve started to see how Man United should be playing, that grit and that determination to want to play for the badge.
“I feel it’s been incredible to see, something that the league’s missed. All we can do is focus on ourselves and not how Man United are doing and how their performances are.”
Nottingham Forest can end Man United’s three-match winning run, while the visitors will be looking to pile further mystery onto the hosts.
