‘Nottingham Forest to sack Edu’ – fans explode at update
Nottingham Forest fans have taken their anger out on Edu following a fresh update concerning Morgan Gibbs-White’s future at the club.
The former Arsenal sporting director was appointed as Nottingham Forest’s new Global Head of Football earlier this month.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Edu decided to quit his role at Arsenal back in November to become head of football operations under Evangelos Marinakis to oversee all three clubs including Forest, Olympiacos and Rio Ave.
Edu played a pivotal role in transforming Mikel Arteta’s squad into Premier League title challengers, helping secure major signings such as Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
However, his start at Forest has been anything but smooth. Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign Anthony Elanga and reports suggest that another key player in Gibbs-White, could soon be on his way out as well.

Tottenham trigger Gibbs-White release clause after Man City hijack
Football Insider understands that Tottenham have triggered Gibbs-White’s release clause, with the midfielder now set to undergo a medical ahead of a move to North London.
Manchester City had also expressed interest in Gibbs-White, but Spurs acted swiftly in recent days to secure a deal, effectively winning the race for his signature.
City have already strengthened their squad this summer with the arrivals of Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki, which could have made regular starts more difficult for Gibbs-White had he opted to move to the Etihad.
The 25-year-old is coming off the back of the best season of his career, registering seven goals and eight assists in the Premier League.
He made 34 appearances under Nuno Espirito Santo, as Gibbs-White became a key figure in Nottingham Forest’s push for European football and earning his first senior England cap in the process.

Nottingham Forest fans slam Edu after Gibbs-White and Elanga exits
Forest surprised many last season, pushing for a Champions League spot right up to the final day before finishing seventh, securing European football for the first time in 29 years.
However, the mood has quickly soured following back-to-back updates on two of the club’s most influential players. With Elanga set to join Newcastle, news of Gibbs-White’s imminent departure has further angered supporters.
Edu has already come under heavy fire from fans frustrated by the outgoing transfers as one supporter wrote: “Sack Edu now. Two days into the job and he’s flogged Elanga and MGW.” Another added: “Edu comes into the club and we flog two of our most influential players… Who puts that pathetic release clause in?”
