Nottingham Forest told to ‘double Chris Wood’s wages’ after transfer twist
Nottingham Forest fans have urged the club to secure Chris Wood’s future at the City Ground with a new contract.
According to The Telegraph, the Premier League side are hopeful of quickly reaching an agreement on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The 32-year-old has made a sensational start to the new season and is the third top goalscorer in the Premier League with seven goals in nine appearances.
Wood is averaging 0.87 goals per 90 minutes and boasts a 37% goal conversation rate which has led to discussions about his future.
The New Zealand international is out of contract at Forest in the summer, but the club are keen to extend his stay at the City Ground.
The experienced striker has been a staple in the team since joining in 2023, making 51 appearances and scoring 23 goals.
Wood is edging towards making history for the club as he is only three goals away from becoming the club’s all-time leading Premier League goalscorer.

Forest fans have told the club to “secure Wood’s future,” while others have stated the hierarchy should “give him what he wants.”
The supporters have made it clear that they want Wood around in the long term, and now it’s down to those behind the scenes to strike a deal.
