Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga reacts to Sven Botman post amid Newcastle links
Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga has responded to Newcastle defender Sven Botman as the winger is strongly linked with a move to Tyneside.
Newcastle have had two bids rejected by Forest for Elanga, as Howe is keen to sign the winger this summer.
The Toon’s second bid of £55million has still not been enough to tempt Forest into a sale, as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to keep his key players following their qualification into the Europa Conference League next season.
Elanga was a pivotal part of a successful season at the City Ground as he contributed six goals and 12 assists.

Toon defender’s post liked by linked Elanga
Botman took to Instagram (7 July) to post a ‘back to work’ message on the Toon’s first day of pre-season training.
The defender shared pictures of him training, which was liked by Elanga and the pair could be team mates next season should Newcastle be successful in their pursuit.
The 25-year-old only made 11 appearances last campaign as he struggled with injury issues.
He returned from an ACL injury last December before suffering numerous knee problems.
Elanga drops transfer hint
Football Insider Verdict
Elanga liking Botman’s post increases the prospect that the 23-year-old wants a move to Newcastle considering the pair have never played together.
Forest are standing firm in their stance that they do not want to sell the player as they also have high ambitions to compete with Europe’s elite.

Jacob Murphy has been in superb form at Newcastle, and it would be tough for Howe to justify dropping him.
However, Elanga’s ball carrying, pace, skill and potential make him a more dangerous threat to opposition defences.
Howe has to be ruthless with his transfer decisions if the Toon are to progress.
With a new contract set to be offered to Alexander Isak and other targets identified to strengthen the squad, Howe is showing ambition in the market.
A fit Botman will also be a boost to his defensive ranks with an ageing back line in need of fresh impetus.
Having returned to the Champions League, which will boost revenue and attract a higher calibre of player, Newcastle look back on course to fulfil their long-term goal of winning a Premier League title.
