Nottingham Forest’s ‘detailed’ Eddie Nketiah plan revealed – sources

Nottingham Forest have made a detailed proposal to Eddie Nketiah to try and convince him to sign, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League club want the 25-year-old to spearhead a homegrown core which includes Elliot Anderson, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Neco Williams.

Talks are advancing with Arsenal after an initial £25million bid was rejected, with the Gunners holding out for £30million-plus.

Forest sources say the club are hopeful of agreeing a deal with their top-flight rivals before the 31st August cut-off.

Nketiah was an unused substitute in Arsenal’s opening game of the season, which they won 2-0 against Wolves 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have been in the market looking for a striker throughout the summer, but Football Insider revealed they have pulled the plug on those plans.

Even if Nketiah departs the club, Arsenal are not expected to look for a replacement during this window.

Nottingham Forest face competition to sign Eddie Nketiah

It is believed that Nketiah is keen to look for more playing time during this transfer window after slipping down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta last season.

Nottingham Forest will face competition to land his signature though as Football Insider revealed that Everton are preparing a loan bid for his services.

Nketiah has averaged a goal every 184 minutes at the Emirates but only started 13 games last season.

Arsenal

Marseille had also been in the running to sign the Arsenal academy graduate, but the two clubs could not agree on a price tag.

Crystal Palace and Wolves have also held a long-term interest in signing Nketiah, which they could look to explore before the window closes.
