Nottingham Forest’s January transfer plans revealed, one thing will change them though
Nottingham Forest already have advanced plans for the January transfer window after a busy summer of recruitment.
The City Ground outfit have endured a turbulent start to the campaign, as Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked and replaced by Ange Postecoglou.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis’ decision to appoint Postecoglou demonstrates his appetite for success, after the 60-year-old won the Europa League with Tottenham last season.
However, Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Burnley on Saturday, 20 September, and have failed to win in three attempts under Postecoglou across all competitions.
Nottingham Forest not planning for busy January transfer window
Amid a busy summer transfer window at the City Ground, Forest signed James McAtee from Manchester City, while former key player Anthony Elanga joined Newcastle United.
But perhaps the most important piece of business completed by Marinakis was the new contract handed to Morgan Gibbs-White after Tottenham’s strong advances for the England international.
Meanwhile, according to The Telegraph on Wednesday, 24 September, Nottingham Forest already have advanced plans for the January transfer window, but few additions are expected unless key players suffer injuries.
Ange Postecoglou well stocked for Europa League campaign
Nottingham Forest begin their Europa League campaign with a trip to Spain on Wednesday, 24 September, where they face last season’s Conference League finalists Real Betis.

The tie will witness Forest face former Manchester United flops Antony and Sofyan Amrabat.
Meanwhile, even though Postecoglou could be in an even better position if he were able to make his own additions in the January window, his side boast the strength in depth that Marinakis believes is capable of sustaining strong form in both the Premier League and the Europa League.
For instance, Dan Ndoye has already proven to be a strong acquisition, having notched one goal and one assist in five appearances since the winger joined from Bologna.
Postecoglou also has more scope to rotate star striker Chris Wood than Espirito Santo did last term, thanks to the summer arrival of former Rennes forward Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga, who scored 18 goals in France last campaign.
