Nottingham Forest’s Ryan Yates reacts to Matz Sels’ ‘behind the scenes’ message
Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels is preparing for the upcoming season by sharing behind-the-scenes footage with supporters.
Sels shared the Premier League golden glove last season with Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya after the Belgian kept 13 clean sheets.
Forest enjoyed a remarkable campaign from previously fighting relegation to becoming Champions League contenders.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side had to settle for a seventh placed finish, although due to Crystal Palace’s ongoing dispute with UEFA over multi club ownership rules, Forest could land a place in the Europa League next season.

Sels gives fans glimpse of contract announcement
Sels has recently signed a new contract at the City Ground to keep him at the club until 2027, with an option to extend that agreement for another season.
The 33-year-old took to Instagram to share photos from the announcement unveiling, with the post captioned: “Behind the scenes,” which was liked by club captain Ryan Yates and fellow team mate Nico Dominguez.
Sels will also be aided by former team mate Wayne Hennessey who, after announcing his retirement, was confirmed as staying at Nottingham Forest in the goalkeeping department.
Santo aims to keep key players amid interest for stars
Football Insider Verdict
Tying Sels down to a new contract was important business by Forest as they have already lost one key player this summer, and could be set for another major departure.
Winger Anthony Elanga left Forest to join Newcastle in a £55million deal, after the Toon eventually agreed a deal after two rejected bids.
Forest and Spurs are in dispute over an approach for midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, who has a £60m release clause in his contract.

Elanga and Gibbs-White played pivotal roles in Santo’s counter-attacking approach last campaign and the Portuguese manager will need additions to his squad with European football increasing their schedule next season.
Forest were built off defensive solidity so keeping hold of their main defensive players will provide the foundation of another positive campaign next season if they can replace their attacking stars.
PSV winger Johan Bakayaoko is a target for Nottingham Forest, whilst striker Igor Jesus has already signed to support Chris Wood up-front.
Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss could also move to Nottingham Forest as a potential Gibbs-White replacement.
