Graham Potter is under increasing pressure at West Ham United as their poor start to the season continues.
Potter faces the sack at West Ham United after the club’s torrid start to the season has seen them win just one of their opening five league games.
Slaven Bilic is in the running for the West Ham job, according to reports, and the former Hammers boss is one of a host of names that have been linked to the impending vacancy at the London Stadium, including Nuno Espirito Santo.
Potter reportedly still has the support of his players, but as results continue to nosedive, the confidence is draining from all involved at the club.
Nuno Espirito Santo holds the key to West Ham’s revival
Potter’s departure could make way for former Nottingham Forest boss Espirito Santo to join the club, and he could fix West Ham in one key area very quickly.
West Ham have already conceded seven goals from set pieces this season, four more than any other Premier League side.
Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest side were unbeatable from set pieces and conceded only nine goals from dead-ball scenarios last season, the joint fifth least in the Premier League.
While he may not add to their insipid attacking play too much, there’s no doubt Espirito Santo would fix West Ham’s leaky backline.
Gabby Agbonlahor believes the writing is on the wall for Graham Potter
As vultures swirl around Potter, talkSPORT’s Gabby Agbonlahor has laid out his view on Potter’s near future.
Agbonlahor said: “Their next game is Everton away, you lose that and then the next game before the international break is Arsenal away, so we could be looking at seven games with between minus 10 and 13 goal difference, and they might have only three points.

“I think that’s bye bye [for Potter], I’m hearing Nuno Espirito Santo is waiting in the wings, Gary O’Neil and other managers will want this job.
“I think he’s under a lot of pressure, if he can go to Everton and get a result then I think that could ease but I’m sure the hierarchy at West Ham are already looking at options to replace him.”
Potter will hope that his players can spring into life again like they did when they beat Nuno’s Forest 3-0 ahead of the international break, but if results go as many expect, the Englishman may be due for a longer layoff over the international break than just two weeks.
