The odds on Liverpool signing Thomas Lemar by Thursday night have been slashed to 1/3 by bookmakers.
Sky Bet have priced the Merseyside giants as overwhelming favourites to land the dazzling Monaco forward ahead of the deadline.
Liverpool are a long way clear of the next-best priced club Arsenal, who are 14/1, while Tottenham, Manchester United and Barcelona are 33/1.
Sky Bet rate it as far more likely that Lemar will join Liverpool than stay at Monaco, with the latter priced at 9/4.
Jurgen Klopp’s side, who have been widely reported to be keen on Lemar in the last 24 hours, were not in the top six clubs in the betting running two months ago.
French news outlet L’Equipe claimed early on Tuesday afternoon that the Merseyside giants have offered £74.3million in cash plus Divock Origi on loan for this season.
It is said that the payment will be split into two instalments, £46.5million now and the remaining £27.8million next summer.
L’Equipe report that Liverpool tabled the new bid for the France international on Monday and are now awaiting a response from Vadim Vasilyev, the vice president of AS Monaco.
The French champions have rejected two previous bids from Liverpool for Lemar of £55million and £74million.
Lemar was in dazzling form for Monaco last season as they won the Ligue 1 title.
He netted 14 goals and supplied 17 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions.
In other Liverpool transfer news, the Merseysiders have hijacked a big-name Chelsea deal and could sign him tomorrow.
