Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez could be set for an early exit from St James’ Park if the latest betting odds are anything to go by.
According to Bet Victor, the former Liverpool and Valencia boss is now a 2/1 joint-favourite to be the next manager to leave, along with Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino.

Only last night, it was revealed that discussions regarding a takeover of Amanda Staveley and PCP Partners had come to an end, meaning the perennially unpopular Mike Ashley would continue as the club’s owner – at least for the time being.
Benitez has continually been asking the board to provide him with details regarding transfer funds and how much he has available as he aims to steer his side clear of the relegation dogfight they find themselves in.
But his questions have gone unanswered and there have been some suggestions that the Spaniard may quit the club.
The Magpies are down in 15th and with just three points between them and Stoke City in the bottom three, they cannot afford to relax with what they have.
A trip to Manchester City is next up for the Tyneside club, followed by the visit of Burnley to St James’ Park – two games which could have a massive say in the outcome of the Magpies season.
