Oliver Antman proves he still has plenty to give at Rangers after cameo in win vs Falkirk
Oliver Antman should not be counted out at Rangers just yet after an eye-catching cameo in their 6-3 win at Falkirk on Sunday.
The Finland international has struggled to get his Ibrox career off the ground since his initial £3million move from Go Ahead Eagles last summer, and he has hardly been used by Danny Rohl of late.
The winger has had to settle for the occasional late substitute appearance in recent months, with his last league start coming way back on 30 November.
Antman’s lack of football has seen his long-term future with the Gers called into question in recent months, but he proved on Sunday that it is not at panic stations just yet for him in Glasgow.
The wideman was an expensive buy for Rangers, and they won’t have lost faith that he could come good after the cameo in their latest win amid the ongoing Scottish Premiership title race.

Antman has had to bide his time and wait for his opportunities of late, but he certainly took the chance that was presented to him against Falkirk.
The 24-year-old was introduced with 85 minutes on the clock and his team already 5-3 up, a situation that allowed him to play with almost total freedom in the final knockings of the game.

He was only on the pitch for a matter of minutes, but he showcased his natural ability to create chances when he flashed a low ball across the box to provide a simple finish for Bojan Miovski for the sixth goal.
It was a moment that reminded everybody as to the quality that Antman possesses in the final third, and it was a clear indication that he could still have a crucial role to play for Rangers in the league split fixtures.
Winning a league title requires contributions from every single member of the squad throughout the campaign, and it is possible that Antman may still have his biggest moment ahead of him.
Any suggestion of Rangers looking to try and recoup their money for him this summer must surely now be put on hold, given that he has proven that he still has plenty to give to the cause.
Andreas Skov Olsen struggles at Rangers to save Antman
Football Insider revealed back in January that Andreas Skov Olsen’s arrival at Rangers had left the door open for Antman to leave the club ahead of the second half of the season, although a move ultimately didn’t come to fruition.
The Dane has since struggled to make the impact that many people expected from him in Scottish football, and it looks unlikely at the moment that Rangers will look to trigger their £8.6m option to buy him at the end of the season.
That looks set to play straight into Antman’s hands regarding his long-term future, as the man who could have potentially forced him towards the exit door looks increasingly likely to depart himself.
He may not have had a perfect start to his time at Rangers in the months since his arrival, but the stars appear to be aligning for him to avoid a hasty departure at least.
