Oliver Glasner is ‘not happy with Michael Carrick’ after Man United twist
Oliver Glasner is not doing himself any favours if he wants to be appointed the next Man United manager.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes Glasner wants to be the next Man United boss.
The Crystal Palace manager has confirmed he will leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season after joining the club in 2024.
Glasner has clashed with the Crystal Palace board over investment in the squad, and made his feelings clear in public after the club sold captain Marc Guehi in the January transfer window.
Oliver Glasner ‘already thinking about’ next managerial role
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Glasner’s latest outburst has not done him any good.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks Glasner will not have been happy about Michael Carrick’s winning start as Man United‘s interim boss.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “He’s already thinking about where he might be going. He won’t have been happy about Michael Carrick winning his first game because I think that Glasner had his eyes on the Man United job, and it may not be such a foregone conclusion.
“It was the first misstep that I thought Glasner made. I thought he handled the summer issues quite well in terms of the press and the way he handled them. But I think this has not done him any good in terms of his own image going forward.”

Glasner faces Crystal Palace sack
Crystal Palace could be forced to sack Glasner, with the Eagles currently on an 11-game winless streak in all competitions.
Following a 3-1 defeat by Chelsea, Crystal Palace lie just eight points above the bottom three in the Premier League table.
Glasner faces crucial fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Wolves in his next four league games which could decide his future.
