'OMG', 'Awesome', 'Hasn't got a clue' – West Ham fans react as Evra deal officially announced
West Ham fans responded with mixed opinions on Twitter after West Ham announced they had signed Patrice Evra on a free transfer.
The 36-year-old left-back returns to the Premier League for a final hurrah in his career after he was sacked by Marseilles after kicking a fan in the hand late last year.
The news was made official by West Ham on their Twitter page on Wednesday afternoon.

However, fans are overly enthused by Evra because of his age.
Some fans think it’s a big step backwards for the club and another said that season ticket commitments are longer than the contracts these days, after Evra was given a three-month contract.
Another said that it was a sign that West Ham were headed for the Championship but not everyone was so uncharitable.
Here is a selection of the reactions from Hammers fans on hearing the news:
I LOVE THIS CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL

David Sullivan in December "We will have to bring in two or three in January. They won’t be old journeymen, they will be young players. They won’t be 32.”

Been a top player over the years. Although this brings the age of our FB up to about 160!! Hardly the young players that Sullivan was quoted as saying we would buy
