One of Leny Yoro’s individual stats against Man City puts him among Premier League’s worst
Manchester United continued their woeful start to the Premier League campaign after being humiliated by Manchester City.
On September 14, Man City beat Man United 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium, marking the Red Devils worst start to a top-flight campaign for 33 years.
Roy Keane blasted Ruben Amorim’s system once more, with the Portuguese boss refusing to change from a two-man midfield that was completely overran by Pep Guardiola’s men.
It’s ultimately this stubbornness that could cost Amorim his job at Old Trafford, while the performances of certain individuals didn’t help his cause.

Leny Yoro was woeful for Man United against Man City
Leny Yoro was part of a disjointed defence that featured Matthijs De Ligt and Luke Shaw against Man City, and the Frenchman was exposed for his frailties at the back.
Yoro was impressive against Fulham on their last away outing, but sadly, the same cannot be said for his performance at the Etihad.
The 19-year-old won zero of his four contested duels in the fixture, becoming the eighth different player to lose 100 per cent of their duels in a single match this season.

In a Manchester Derby where tensions are running high, United supporters would have been disappointed to see their team showing a lack of fight.
Yoro was joined by Bruno Fernandes, who was blasted by Man United fans for showing a lack of urgency to win the ball back and struggling to impose himself in a deeper midfield role.
Ruben Amorim has tipped Leny Yoro to become ‘one of the best’
Although the young French defender was poor against Man City and found it difficult to impose himself physically, he is highly rated by many associated with the club.
Man United fans were wowed by Yoro in their pre-season clash against Everton, and Amorim himself has tipped him to become one of the world’s best.
Speaking on Sky Sports Saturday Social in August, Amorim said: “I think [Leny Yoro] can be one of the best centre-backs in the world. He improved a lot with the physicality. In the small things, he’s stronger; in set pieces, he’s getting the ball quite a lot. He’s going to be much better this season.”
The Red Devils have seen glimpses of his talent in 2025/26, particularly against Fulham, but for him to fulfill his potential, the manager needs to deploy players in front of him who offer better protection.
Currently, a midfield of Manuel Ugarte and Fernandes is being torn to shreds and that trend will continue if no changes are made.
