Ossie Ardiles revealed his delight on Twitter after Tottenham’s win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

Spurs recorded a narrow 1-0 away victory at Selhurst Park as Christian Eriksen netted a 78th minute winner.

The north London club kept up the pressure on leaders Chelsea in the title race and narrowed the gap to just four points.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have five games remaining to make up the deficit and now turn their attention to a weekend clash with great rivals Arsenal.

Ardiles voiced his joy on social media after Spurs picked up three points during the mid-week clash against Palace and gave special praise to manager Pochettino.

“What a result. Such a tough place to go and get a results,”Ardiles wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Big big congratulations to Mauricio Pochettino and the boys at Spurs what a team.

“What a manager. After the disappointment of last Saturday when we we were the best team but lost. To come back like this. So, so proud,”

Chelsea cranked up the pressure on Spurs following they 4-2 victory over Southampton on Tuesday night.

However, Spurs responded with an away win against Palace and the race for the title remains an interesting one.

Attacking midfielder Eriksen continued his great form this season with another goal and the playmaker has been a crucial player for them.

Pochettino’s team suffered a disappointing exit to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at the weekend in a 4-2 loss, but the race for the league crown remains very much on.
