Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Walker display in win v Crystal Palace

By Matt Farr

Kyle Walker was far from his best during Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night – and fans on Twitter were in agreement.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form for Tottenham this season, contributing to the best defensive outfit in the Premier League this season with just 22 goals conceded from 33 matches.

But Walker was caused considerable problems by pacey Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha at Selhurst Park on Wednesday, despite Tottenham recording another clean sheet.

Following the victory, fans took to Twitter to deliver their verdicts on Walker’s defensive display.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Walker has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester City this summer, with the Telegraph reporting on Monday that the defender is set to reassess his future at the end of the season.

Tottenham fans fear that the ongoing speculation may have had an impact on the quality of his performance against Crystal Palace, with some suggesting his head was elsewhere.

But it may just have been a bad day at the office for Walker, who has made 36 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season.

The win reduces the deficit behind league leaders Chelsea to four points ahead of the final five games of the season, beginning with the north London derby against Arsenal at the weekend.
