'Outstanding' - Exclusive: Paul Robinson blown away by barely-seen West Ham star
Paul Robinson heaped praise on David Moyes for his management of Jarrod Bowen since he arrived at West Ham in January.
The former Leeds United and Spurs goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, described the 23-year-old’s performance against Southampton as “outstanding”.
Bowen scored on his first start for the club since arriving from Hull City on deadline day last month.
The winger scored the opener as the Hammers went on to beat the Saints 3-1 at the London Stadium with Michail Antonio and Sebastian Haller also on the scoresheet.
Robinson applauded the Irons manager for only using Bowen as a substitute away to Manchester City and Liverpool.
“You can give David Moyes a lot of credit for what he has done with Jarrod Bowen,” the former England international told Football Insider.

“The way he has man managed him into the side. If you look at the games after he signed: Manchester City away, Liverpool away. They are not going to be attacking a lot or get many chances. So, it gave him time to integrate into the team, get him fit and get him used to the ideas that he wants from him and I am sure when he signed Moyes had Southampton at home earmarked for his full debut.
“He was outstanding yesterday and it was an excellent goal.”
The victory lifted the Hammers out of the relegation zone and into sixteenth as Bournemouth were only able to draw at home to Chelsea.
A London derby at the Emirates next Saturday starts a run of difficult fixtures for David Moyes with Wolves Tottenham and Chelsea all to follow.
