Pat Nevin makes bold Man United prediction, this would have been ‘delusional deranged ramblings’
Man United’s positive run of form has the Red Devils reaching for new heights this season, with Ruben Amorim’s side just six points behind leaders Arsenal.
Four wins in five games means Man United sit sixth in the Premier League table, above the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.

Man United have had an ‘incredible short-term turnaround’
Speaking to BBC Sport, Pat Nevin, [30 October], has been impressed by Man United’s recent form and the team spirit that Amorim is building.
“Even a few short weeks ago, this would have sounded like delusional deranged ramblings,” Nevin said of Man United being above Liverpool and level on points with Man City in the table.
”There are a multitude of reasons for this incredible short-term turnaround in the fortunes of both United and Liverpool. United beating Chelsea in a bizarre game a few weeks back helped, but not as much as their 2-1 win at Anfield.

“This has led to a team spirit finally becoming visible from space, when you couldn’t see it from 10 yards with a telescope beforehand. It has given them that other secret ingredient too: confidence.
”Ruben Amorim has to keep the work-rate up and retain that spirit, but if he can keep them as relaxed as they looked against Brighton, the nightmare might just be over for the Red Devils.”
Ruben Amorim handed further boost
Amorim’s squad has now been strengthened with Lisandro Martinez returning to training following a long period of time out of action.
Once up to full fitness, Martinez will be expected to take a position in the Man United back three, potentially replacing Luke Shaw.
A combative defender, Martinez’s willingness to win will be a huge boost for the mentality of the squad and Amorim’s ambitions to climb the table.
