Celtic legend Chris Sutton wound up Rangers fans on Monday morning when he joked about Gers striker Michael O’Halloran being spotted supporting Celtic at Saturday’s Scottish Cup final – and Gers fans quickly fired back at the former Hoops star

After O’Halloran’s agent confirmed that it was the Gers outcast who had been pictured on social media, Sutton took to Twitter and had his own take on the story.

“I don’t understand the issue here? Some would saw it’s nice to see a Rangers player at a cup final this season…” Sutton said on his personal Twitter account.

Gers fans were not impressed with the BT Sports pundits comments – and took to Twitter themselves to take aim at the former Celtic striker.

Here are some of their comments:

O’Halloran’s appearance at the Scottish Cup final isn’t the first time he’s fallen foul of Rangers fans after no-showing an Under-20s game last year which led to him being banished from the first-team squad.

The attacker has played one minute for Rangers this season and spent four months on loan at St. Johnstone earlier in the campaign but returned to Ibrox on loan in January.

O’Halloran’s Gers contract runs until 2020 after signing a four-year deal when he joined the Light Blues from St. Johnstone in January 2016 for £450,000.

In other Rangers transfer news, the club are in hot pursuit of a 6’4″ colossus who could be signing of the season.
