Paul McGrath has stated that it is “game on” for Tottenham in the title race after Chelsea suffered a costly 2-0 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Premier League league leaders went into the match at Old Trafford leading second-placed Spurs by four points after they had dispatched Bournemouth 4-0 the day before.
However, Antonio Conte’s side were outfought by a physical United team who didn’t let them settle throughout the match.
Teenager Marcus Rashford opened the scoring early in the first before Ander Herrera doubled his side’s lead straight after the break.
Former Aston Villa defender McGrath issued this response after the league leaders dropped points at the weekend.
“Manchester United dominated Chelsea,” McGrath wrote on his personal Twitter account. “I thought Rashford was class. Game on now with Tottenham [in the title race].”

The FA Cup semi-final showdown between Chelsea and Tottenham could play its part on how the two teams perform in their remaining six league matches.
After that clash at Wembley, Conte’s side still have to take on Southampton, Everton, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Watford and Sunderland.
On paper, their title rivals seemingly have a tougher run-in with Crystal Palace, north London rivals Arsenal, West Ham, Manchester United, Leicester City and Hull being their remaining games.
Not only that, the Premier League’s top two sides still have the opportunity on winning the double with the winner of the semi-final clash playing either Manchester City or Arsenal in the final.
