Paul Merson believes that Arsenal will struggle to deal with Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke on Sunday.
The Gunners host Palace in the Premier League and will be looking to follow up the 1-0 win against West Brom on Monday.
Arsene Wenger’s side are currently fourth in the Premier League table and will be keen to consolidate their position in the top four.
The north London club are also nine points behind league leaders Chelsea and will still have aspirations of competing for the title.
Palace have recently appointed Sam Allardyce as their manager and earned a point against Watford in his first game, but he is facing a battle against relegation.
Sky Sports pundit claims that the relegation-threatened side can trouble Arsenal and identified Benteke as a major threat.
“I see Palace causing them major problems, Arsenal won’t be able to live with Christian Benteke,” Merson wrote on Sky Sports’ website.
Merson has tipped Arsenal to narrowly edge out Palace 3-2 in the contest.
Benteke is regarded as one of the standout players at Selhurst Park and completed a sensational £27million move from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League after spells with Aston Villa and Liverpool, but has now found a home at Palace.
The Belgian international has scored eight goals in 18 appearances this season and is the club’s biggest threat in attack.
He is an extremely composed finisher and is also very strong in the air, something that Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel will have to be wary of.
In other Arsenal news, Lauren claims the club’s player can be the best in the world.
