Paul Merson predicts Everton v Tottenham
By Derek Smithson
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has predicted Tottenham to draw with Everton on Saturday.
Spurs travel to Goodison Park for a Premier League clash and will be looking to kick on after a mediocre start to the new season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have just four points from their opening three games and will already not want to drift too far behind current leaders Manchester United.
The North London club have drawn three of their last four Premier League games against Everton, but won the previous meeting 3-2 back in March.
Merson has tipped a 1-1 scoreline between the two teams when they clash on Saturday at 3pm.

“This is a big game for both sides. If Everton get beat at home to Spurs you’ll get the voices saying: ‘They’ve spent all this money but are still a million miles away,” Merson told Sky Sports. “Spurs have also started poorly and really need to win otherwise they could be chasing even at the early stage.
“This is a hard game for both teams and one they won’t want to lose. It’s a game both teams will be scared to lose so I’m going for a draw.”
Spurs will be without ever-present midfielder Victor Wanyama at the weekend while he recovers from a new injury, while new signing Serge Aurier is unlikely to start after his hectic international schedule with Ivory Coast.
However, Davinson Sanchez could be in line for his first full Spurs start since his move from Ajax and the defender is someone fans are eagerly waiting to see properly.
In other Tottenham news, the club’s supporters reacted on Twitter after their defender shined on international duty.
