Paul Merson predicts Tottenham v Burnley
By Harvey Byrne
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has predicted Tottenham to run out a routine victory against Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
The north London club are currently preparing to host the Lancashire outfit at Wembley in Sky’s 4.00pm kick off.
The two sides last met in April at Turf Moor with Spurs running out comfortable 2-0 victors with goals from both Eric Dier and Son Heung-min.
Now, Merson believes Tottenham will pick up all three points on Sunday, predicting a 3-0 Spurs victory with star Harry Kane to get on the score sheet.
“This is a big game for Tottenham for overcome that Wembley hoodoo that’s currently around the club. But they showed enough going forward against Chelsea and I think they will turn the corner. Harry Kane’s hit the post twice so far, I fancy him to score for the first time in August in a routine Spurs win,” told Merson, as quoted by the Sky Sports website.

Tottenham started the season with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Newcastle, but in their first home match at Wembley last weekend they a 2-1 defeat against league champions and rivals Chelsea with a Michy Batshuayi own goal failing to cancel out two from wing-back Marcos Alonso.
They will be keen to make an immediate bounce back to winning ways against Burnley, but Sean Dyche’s men will prove difficult foes as they themselves achieved a 3-2 victory over Chelsea on the opening day before falling to a 1-0 defeat against West Brom last weekend.
Sunday’s match marks the last before the international break and a win for Tottenham could see them take the top spot depending on results elsewhere.
In other Tottenham news, a report has named six players who could join Spurs before next Thursday.
