Paul Merson has predicted Tottenham to record a comfortable win at home to Swansea in the Premier League.

Spurs welcome Paul Clement’s side to Wembley on Saturday and will be looking to continue their recent strong form.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be in good spirits after being Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the Champions League group stages on Wednesday and in the process win their first home game of the season.

They also demolished Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park in their last league game and are beginning to find their top form after a moderate start.

The North London club have in-form striker Harry Kane at the point of their attack and he has scored four goals in his last two appearances.

Sky Sports pundit Merson has predicted Spurs to win 3-0 against Swansea and keep up their momentum.

“I watched Swansea win at Palace and they weren’t very good, then they lost at home to Newcastle and they weren’t very good, so I don’t see how they will live with Tottenham, who will be buzzing after their midweek win against Borussia Dortmund,” Merson wrote in his column for Sky Sports. “We have always said they are a good team but they need to win a league game at Wembley.

“They looked a bit nervous against Burnley and the longer the game went on you thought Burnley could score. But they went to Everton and ripped them apart – that could have been any score. I don’t see too many teams doing that at Goodison Park. I think they win this comfortably.”

Spurs have a brilliant record against Swansea recently and are unbeaten in their last 13 games against them in all competitions.

Pochettino’s team beat them in empathic fashion in both fixtures last season, winning 5-0 at home in December, before triumphing 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium in March.

In other Tottenham news, the club’s supporters were highly critical of their midfielder after his performance against Dortmund.
