Pedro Neto and Renato Veiga respond to Joao Felix’s message as Chelsea exit looms

Joao Felix’s message drew plenty of attention from Chelsea teammates after Portugal’s victory over Spain in the Nations League.

Felix returned to Chelsea last summer but looks set for another exit, having spent time on loan at AC Milan and a summer move now on the cards.

The club aiming to strengthen in attack once again, his future at Stamford Bridge appears increasingly uncertain.

The Portuguese forward wasn’t the only one to head to Italy in the winter window as Renato Veiga also made a loan move, joining Juventus in January in search of more regular first-team football.

Chelsea are expected to make a firm decision on Felix soon, with a summer exit likely, as they look to trim their bloated squad following a campaign that saw 36 different players feature in their Conference League run.

Despite uncertainty over his future, he was pictured celebrating with his international teammates after Portugal’s latest win.

Portugal beat Spain to win Nations League title

Despite underwhelming spells at both Chelsea and AC Milan, Felix was named in the Portugal squad and featured as they overcame Spain in the Nations League final. The match ended 2-2 before Portugal triumphed on penalties.

Felix shared a photo on Instagram alongside fellow Portugal internationals Pedro Neto and Renato Veiga, captioned: “Good morning Portugal.”

The post quickly drew a response, with Neto replying with a raised hands and heart emoji, and Veiga doing the same. Bruno Fernandes and Nicolas Jackson were among those to like the post.

While the trio seemed in good spirits during international duty, it’s unlikely all three will reunite at Stamford Bridge. Football Insider revealed that Chelsea are prepared to accept offers for Felix, with AC Milan having decided against making his loan permanent.

Chelsea supporters have already voiced their support for the club’s decision to part ways with Felix, whose future in West London now looks increasingly bleak.

With Felix expected to move on, Chelsea could be set for further changes in attack as speculation grows around Nicolas Jackson, as he is attracting interest from La Liga sides.

Despite being the first-choice striker for much of the campaign, Chelsea have already secured the signing of Liam Delap and remain in talks for additional forward reinforcements, with Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike among those linked.

This points towards a reduced role for Jackson next season, and could pave the way for his departure. If Chelsea continue to pursue new signings, Spanish clubs may look to capitalise on his uncertain situation at Stamford Bridge.
