Pedro Porro and Dominic Solanke respond to Xavi Simons’ Tottenham update
Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing, Xavi Simons took to social media to express his joy after moving to the club.
Simons joined Tottenham from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in a deal worth £51million, deciding to move to Thomas Frank’s side over Chelsea.
Frank will be hoping Simons is able to be fit and firing after the international break after concerning injury updates from James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski in the last two weeks.
Simons will joined summer signings Mohammed Kudus, Joao Palhinha and Randal Kolo Muani as Tottenham travel to West Ham United on Saturday.

Xavi Simons begins training
Fans clamoured to footage of Simons training that was posted on Tottenham’s official X (formerly Twitter account) on Wednesday.
In a post on his Instagram account, Simons posted a series of images that showed him training at Hotspur Way.
Simons captioned the post saying: “Happy boyyyy,” while the Dutchman’s teammates Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro and Dominic Solanke all liked the post.
Simons, who played 78 minutes during the Netherlands’ World Cup qualifiers in the week, will be hoping to start his Premier League career off with a bang at the weekend.
Why Xavi Simons can become the Premier League’s best summer signing
Simons will be best known to fans of English football because of his wonderful curling strike in the 2024 Euros semi-final against England.
Younger fans will recognise Simons from the social media attention the young La Masia graduate received during his formative playing years.
Since moving to PSG, Simons’ career has taken a different route, plying his trade at PSV and then RB Leipzig, where the talented star operated on the down low away from constant media scrutiny.
Xavi Simons | G+A | Matches |
PSV | 27 | 34 |
RB Leipzig | 35 | 57 |
Now Simons is back in the big time with Spurs, the Dutch international has all the skills to develop into one of the Premier League’s best forward thinking players.
Simons has an X-factor about him that can unlock Premier League defences and get Tottenham fans on the edge of their seat whenever he picks up the ball.
The former Barcelona man glides with the ball at his feet, riding challenges with ease and combining great speed with fluid movement and adept technical skill.
If Frank can find a way to integrate Simons into his system, there’s no reason the Dutchman can’t be the fulcrum of this Spurs side for the foreseeable future.
