Pedro Porro’s recent performances at Tottenham have left fans concerned, but the defender remained in good spirits as he shared an update during the international break.

Porro was linked with Real Madrid earlier in the season as a potential alternative to Trent Alexander-Arnold, but his recent displays may not only have cooled their interest but also frustrated his own supporters.

The Spaniard was an unused substitute for Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat to Fulham in their last Premier League match, a decision that may have been influenced by his costly errors against Bournemouth in the previous fixture.

Tottenham fans were left furious after Porro’s mistakes led to Bournemouth’s opening goal. He lost possession cheaply before failing to track the run of Milos Kerkez, who delivered a pinpoint cross to set up the finish. Supporters described his performance as “horrific” with many questioning his place in the starting XI.

Porro has faced criticism from Tottenham supporters earlier this season, so his omission from the squad didn’t come as a huge surprise. Still, he remained active online, sending an update despite the backlash.

Porro has been a key figure in Ange Postecoglou’s squad this season, making 41 appearances while contributing two goals and seven assists. However, his place in the starting XI could now be under threat.

Spence has impressed Tottenham fans since returning to Postecoglou’s squad, primarily featuring as a left-back. However, his natural position is on the right, and with Porro dropped for their last Premier League match, there’s a possibility that Spence could make the switch permanently.
