‘Pep Guardiola will leave Man City this summer’
Pep Guardiola no longer has the appetite to undergo a rebuild at Man City as his team continues to struggle on the pitch, a football TV host has claimed.
The Citizens have experienced an incredible amount of success and glory under the Catalonian since he arrived in 2016, but his time in charge looks to be coming to a swift conclusion at the Etihad.
Kevin de Bruyne could be one of multiple Man City stars leaving in the summer, with interest from Saudi Arabia and the MLS before the winter transfer window slammed shut.
While Erling Haaland has recently put pen to paper on a new deal at the Etihad Stadium, it has been speculated that the Man City striker will remain at the club just as long as Guardiola.
The City hierarchy might have a much bigger rebuild on their hands, and a far more difficult one if the current manager were to leave at the end of the season.

Pep Guardiola no longer has the appetite to manage Man City
Speaking via talkSPORT [20 February], TV host Hugh Woozencroft said: “There’s so much work for Man City to do to get back to where they want to be as a football club, even despite the fact they’ve got some brilliant players.
“I just don’t know if he’s got the energy to do it right now. He’s got the talent to do it, he’s got the talent to get the team back to where they want to be, but does he have the appetite to do it? It’ll probably take two seasons.
“They have the money to recruit, and they’ve already started that process, and they have a genius as a manager, but we’ve seen him go full-throttle for a while. I think that, maybe, he won’t be in charge next season.”
Sheikh Mansour faces incredible challenge
Football Insider verdict
Sheikh Mansour has had an incredibly easy journey for the last decade, having a successful manager paving the way for plenty of silverware, and prize money, and attracting people from all over the world.
However, it has been suggested that Man City players are becoming tired of Guardiola following their dismal defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.
With Kyle Walker already on loan at AC Milan, Ilkay Gundogan nowhere near the player he used to be, and John Stones clearly unable to stay fit, there need to be several signings made in the summer.
All of those changes are already difficult enough, but having to find another talented manager on top of that would be a huge ask in just one summer.
Luckily, some of those changes are already being made, with Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis added to the squad during the last transfer window.
It will still take a lot of funds to rebuild the current team, with multiple faces likely to leave at the end of the season, but plans are clearly already in place and the wheel has started to spin.
