Gabriel Agbonlahor has told Tyler Roberts to leave Leeds United on loan in January.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the 74-goal ex-Premier League striker admitted the 22-year-old will not want to leave Elland Road but it is the ideal decision for his career.
Bit of loan movement at Leeds. Jordan Stevens leaving Swindon and going to Bradford. Derby keen on Tyler Roberts. Aberdeen would like to extend Ryan Edmondson’s half-season loan but that’s still to be decided. #lufc

Football Insider revealed last September Derby had set their sights on the Wales international and were keen to turn him into a centre-forward.
That deal hinged on Udinese playmaker Rodrigo de Paul completing a switch to Elland Road but that failed to materialise.
Roberts has not featured for the Whites since his six-minute cameo against Newcastle United on December 16.
Tellingly he was not even included on Leeds’ nine-man bench for their 3-0 loss to Tottenham on Saturday.
Asked by Football Insider whether Roberts should leave Elland Road on loan this month, Agbonlahor said: “Everyone wants to play in the Premier League and he was part of the team that got promoted.
“But sometimes you’ve got to look at it and if you’re not getting game time, you’re not getting starts, it’s OK being in the Premier League but you’re young, you want to play football, you want to play games.
“As much as he won’t want to leave Leeds I think it would be the right decision.
“Go to a top team in the Championship and play some football because that’s what it’s about not just sitting on the bench or not even making squads.”
Roberts has played eight times in the Premier League this season but is yet to find the net or provide an assist.
