Phil Foden and Morgan Rogers react to Ross Barkley announcement at Aston Villa
Aston Villa midfielder Ross Barkley posted a message on social media which Man City winger Phil Foden and teammate Morgan Rogers reacted to.
Barkley re-joined Aston Villa for his second spell at the club in the summer, following an impressive season for relegated Luton Town.
Despite featuring regularly at the beginning of the season, the former Everton man has lost his place in the Villa starting XI.
Gabby Agbonlahor suggested that Barkley was not up to the standard required for Unai Emery, whilst also mentioning Jadon Philogene who has since joined Ipswich in January.
Barkley has not been helped with injuries, having been side-lined with a calf injury for over two months.
Ross Barkley tells Aston Villa fans return will happen ‘very soon’
Barkley’s return to injury cannot come soon enough, with the Midlands club’s form beginning to dip.
Injuries to defenders Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa, forced Emery to use Boubacar Kamara in an unfamiliar role at centre-half.
However, with the Frenchman now missing too, the Villa midfield is threadbare, and in desperate need of reinforcement.

The former Chelsea man’s England teammates, Rogers and Foden, both liked the post, showing their support for Barkley’s recovery.
Phil Foden sends message to Ross Barkley as Man City struggles continue
Football Insider Verdict
Foden has been a part of the worst Man City this decade, and despite a flurry of transfer business, nothing is going right for the Premier League champions.
Despite being crowned Player of the Season last year, the 24-year-old endured a difficult European Championship with England, and has been unable to replicate his form from last year.
Foden was criticised by Man City fans for a poor performance against Liverpool, as the Citizens lost 2-0 to the Premier League table-toppers on Sunday (24 February).
