Kevin Phillips is urging Marcelo Bielsa to name an unchanged side when Leeds United face Burnley on Saturday.
The former Sunderland hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, warned Bielsa against rushing injured players back too soon.
Bielsa provided an update on the fitness of Raphinha, Rodrigo and Kalvin Phillips ahead of Saturday’s clash.
Leeds Live quote Bielsa as saying, “Yes, they are fit”, when asked about the trio’s fitness.
Raphinha, 24, made his return from injury in last weekend’s 3-1 win over Spurs.
Rodrigo scored his first goal of 2021 in that match as Phillips made a cameo appearance with just seconds remaining.
Phillips insists Bielsa should start last week’s winning team and then bring Raphinha on during the second half.
“How many times have I said ‘go with the same team’ after a good result,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.
“Pick the same team and do it again. It’s great that you don’t have to push those players who are coming back or rush them.
“That doesn’t cause any issues in the dressing room, no one gets upset. But if you want to play those players, start with the same team.
“If you’re desperate to play Raphinha, start the same team and bring him on after an hour or at half time.
“Bielsa is shrewd like that and I’d imagine he’ll pick an unchanged side.”
Fulham’s relegation on Monday means Leeds are the only promoted side who will still be in the top flight next year.
The Whites travel to Turf Moor on Saturday looking to secure a top half finish.
