Phillips predicts Tottenham transfer pain amid Paratici verdict
Kevin Phillips has shared his worries over the new power dynamic at Tottenham following the appointments of Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabio Paratici.
The Sunderland legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, is concerned about Paratici’s remit when it comes to transfers.
On 1st July, Spurs announced Nuno as their new boss following an extensive hunt.
The North London side spoke to plenty of managers before appointing the former Wolves boss.
Paratici arrived as Tottenham’s new director of football this summer and it is understood he will oversee the club transfer dealings.
Phillips claims Paratici overruled Daniel Levy to appoint Nuno and he is worried about what that means for Spurs going forward.

“Paratici has managed to convince Levy on Nuno,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.
“Let’s just hope it’s not a panic appointment. Time is getting on and it looks like they have just gone back for Nuno after failing to get the others.
“I hope that’s not the case. We know what his managerial qualities are.
“The only slight worry with Paratici is him taking complete control over transfer where Nuno doesn’t have a say.
“I’ve always said you have to work with your technical director and agree on players together.
“It will be interesting to see who comes in at Tottenham now.”
Spurs spoke to numerous managerial candidates after sacking Jose Mourinho back in April.
Nuno left Wolves at the end of the season following a very successful three-year spell at Molineux.
