Piers Morgan calls on Twitter for £100,000-a-week Arsenal ace to be sold

By Harry Sykes

Piers Morgan has called for Arsenal to sell midfield kingpin Aaron Ramsey.

The outspoken celebrity Gunners supporter took to Twitter during the Gunners’ 3-3 thriller against Bournemouth on Tuesday night to lay into Ramsey.

Morgan was unimpressed with the contribution of the Wales international, who was recalled to the starting XI at the Vitality Stadium and handed only his third Premier League start of the season.

Ramsey is renowned for his bursts from midfield and attacking play but has failed to open his goal account in what has been a stop-start season wrecked by injury.

He was handed the No10 role against Bournemouth in the absence once again of the ill Mesut Ozil but cut a frustrated figure despite Arsenal’s stunning late comeback.

Morgan was apoplectic at the lack of impact from Ramsey and took to his personal Twitter account to urge Arsenal to sell the 26-year-old.

Ramsey, who joined Arsenal aged 18 in 2008 from Cardiff, is contracted to the London giants until 2019 after signing a new contract in 2014 which, according to the Guardian, is worth more than £100,000-a-week.

Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Lucas Perez and Olivier Giroud rescued a point for Arsenal on the south coast after they had gone 3-0 down to Eddie Howe’s side after 58 minutes.

Giroud’s late heroics ensured that Arsene Wenger’s side return to London with a point and kept them at fourth in the Premier League table with a tally of 41 points from 20 matches.

However, Arsenal are eight adrift of leaders Chelsea, who will go 11 clear of their bitter rivals if they beat Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.

In other Arsenal news, the Gunners have lodged a £28million bid for a Juventus player.
